Ancient Greeks relied only on natural ingredients for hair care.

Olive oil was commonly used to moisturize and condition hair. Other ingredients included herbs like rosemary and sage which were believed to stimulate hair growth.

Additionally, honey and aloe vera were used for their soothing properties. While “their” understanding of hair care differed from ours, these natural elements were thought to contribute to healthy and possibly long hair.

Here’s an ancient Greek-inspired hair mask recipe using natural ingredients:

  2. Once infused, remove from heat and strain out the herbs, allowing the oil to cool slightly.
  3. Mix the infused oil with honey and aloe vera gel in a bowl until well combined.
  4. Apply the mixture evenly to damp hair, focusing on the lengths and ends.
  5. Gently massage the mask into your hair and scalp.
